Overview

Unable to change the IP address or any settings on WHD appliance after SSH into it.

Environment

All WHD appliance versions

Cause

The WHD appliance is based on Linux and as such will not let you change settings until you are logged in as Root.

Resolution

  1. SSH to WHD appliance
  2. Log in using default :
    admin/admin
  3. Enter:
    sudo su -

Notes:

  • This grants you full rights.
  • Always make sure you have snapshot in place before making any changes as these may render the appliance unusable.
