Restore a deleted Request Type or Problem Type from an embedded PostgreSQL database

This article describes how to restore a deleted Request Type (Problem Type) from an embedded PostgreSQL database. 


All WHD versions


If you are using the embedded PostgreSQL database, you can follow the steps below to connect and run the sql command:

  1. Open your WebHelpDesk home directory.
    Apple® OS X®: /Library/WebHelpDesk    
    Microsoft Windows®: \Program Files\WebHelpDesk    
    Linux: /usr/local/webhelpdesk
  2. Navigate to pgsql9\bin.
  3. Double-click pgadmin3.
  4. Click File > Add Server.
  5. Complete the fields in the New Server Registration window, and then click OK. 
    • Name: whd
    • Host: localhost (or the IP Address)
    • Port: 20293
    • Maintenance DB: postgres
    • Username: whd
    • Password: whd
  6. Expand Databases and highlight the whd database.
  7. Click the SQL magnifying lens icon open the Query Tool or SQL Editor.
  8. Type the scripts or commands that you want to run.
  9. Click Play or Execute.
  10. To view all deleted Request Types, execute:
    SELECT problem_type_name, problem_type_id FROM problem_type WHERE Deleted='1' 
    To restore the deleted Request Type, execute: 
    UPDATE problem_type SET Deleted='0' WHERE problem_type_id='<problem type id>' 
    For example, The Request Type (Problem Type) ID that you want to restore is 12. 
    UPDATE problem_type SET Deleted='0' WHERE problem_type_id='12'
