This issue occurs because:

  • The internal hostname in the virtual appliance is localhost.
  • Outlook’s junk/phishing filter is enabled.

To resolve this issue, you must change the HOSTNAME and DOMAINNAME lines in /etc/sysconfig/network, as follows:
  1. Connect to the Web Help Desk appliance using an SSH and telnet client, like PuTTY.
    Note: Make sure you login as Admin.
  2. Using the vi editor, change the HOSTNAME and DOMAINNAME lines in /etc/sysconfig/network so they contain the virtual appliance's host name and domain name.
    For example:
    $ sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network
    The lines should look like these:
    HOSTNAME=<virtual-appliance-host>
    DOMAINNAME=<virtual-appliance-domain>
  3. Restart the Web Help Desk virtual appliance
