1. Stop the Web Help Desk (WHD) Service on the Windows server - How to Start/Stop Web Help Desk Service.
2. Backup PostgreSQL embedded database using the PGAdmin tool or PostgreSQL commands on the original server - How to Backup/Restore PostgreSQL Using Command Line.
3. Install WHD on HyperV.
4. Run the Getting Started Wizard and choose the embedded database (default PostgreSQL).
5. Once finished, stop the WHD application on the target server.
6. Copy the PostgreSQL database backup from the original server to the target server, using the following command in the Linux server terminal:

<path_to_pscp.exe>\pscp.exe "path_to_whd.pgdump" admin@<ip_address_of_virtual_appliance>:/home/admin</ip_address_of_virtual_appliance></path_to_pscp.exe>

Note: If prompted for password, enter your database password.
7. Rename or drop the default empty PostgreSQL embedded database - How to Rename/Drop Default Empty PostgreSQL Embedded Database.
8. Restore PostgreSQL database backup using the PGAdmin tool or the PostgreSQL commands on the target server.
9. Start the WHD service on the target server and login to the WHD application.
10. If the Domain host name of the target server is different from the domain host name of original server, go to Setup > General > Options and change Server DNS Name - How to Change Help Desk Link in WHD.
