WHD uses the wrong outgoing email account

Overview

When an incoming email account is configured to use an alternate outgoing email account, Web Help Desk displays the "From" address as the default outgoing email account.

Environment

WHD version 12.3

Resolution

  1. Log in to Web Help Desk as an administrator.
  2. Go to Setup > Email > Options > Outgoing Mail Accounts.
  3. In the Outgoing Mail Accounts column, click an account.
  4. In the Advanced E-Mail Properties field, enter the following:
    mail.from.override=your_address@your_domain.com

    This address replaces the "From" address in all email sent with the account with the provided address. This overrides both the incoming email account E-Mail Address property and the outgoing email Web Help Desk E-Mail Address property.

  5. Click Save.
