Tech account with admin rights displays as a user account

Overview

A tech account with administrator rights displays as a user account in Web Help Desk. 

Environment

  • Web Help Desk 12.3

Cause 

  • A client account has the same user name as a tech account.
  • The Client Login Attribute is set to User Name instead of E-Mail. 

Resolution

Perform one of the following procedures.

Change the client name

  1. Log in to Web Help Desk as an administrator.
  2. Change the tech or client user name to a different name. 

Change the client login attribute to E-Mail

This procedure impacts all clients.

  1. Log in to Web Help Desk as an administrator
  2. Click Setup > Clients > Options.
  3. Change the client login attribute to E-Mail. 
  4. Click Save
