Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. Database migration does not start during upgrade to Web Help Desk v12.0.0

Upgrading to version 12.0.0 from version 11.x.x shows the Getting Started Wizard instead of upgrading and migrating the Embedded Frontbase Database to the Embedded PostgreSQL Database.

  • WHD 12.0.0
  • Windows Server 2003 or XP running embedded databases

The IPv6 listener for PostgreSQL has been enabled, which prevents the PostgreSQL service from starting.

  1. Locate the pg_hba.conf file in /pgsql9/data/
  2. Open the file in a text editor and comment out the IPv6 host entry.
  3. Manually restart the PostgreSQL service.
