Change AD Connection IP Address from the PostgreSQL Database in WHD

Overview

This article shows you another way to change the Active Directory Connection IP Address from the PostgreSQL Database in Web Help Desk.

Environment

  • Web Help Desk, all versions
  • PostgreSQL Database

Steps

  1. Browse to ...\WebHelpDesk\pgsql9\bin.
  2. Run pgAdmin3.
  3. In pgAdmin III window, go to File > Add Server.
  4. Add the following:
    1. Name: WHDDB
    2. Host: localhost (or the IP Address)
    3. Port: 20293
    4. Maintenance DB: postgres
    5. Username: whd
    6. Password: whd
  5. Click OK.
  6. Expand "Databases" and you should see the whd database.
  7. Select WHD database and click on the SQL button.
  8. You should now have the SQL Query window to type your queries.
  9. Change the LDAP Connection IP Address through your Web Help Desk database by executing the following statements:
UPDATE LDAP_CONNECTION
SET HOST_CHARACTER_VARYING(255) = <Enter_IP_Address_Here>;
  1. Save.
  2. Log in to Web Help Desk using the account credentials.
