Backup results in empty zero K files

Overview

Scheduled or manual backups of the embedded Postgres database on Mac OSX result in an empty file size.

Environment

  • WHD 12.4.x
  • Mac OS X

Cause 

During the upgrade to 12.4.x, the permissions for some files under /Library/WebHelpDesk/bin/jre/lib got mixed up.

Resolution

Re-apply file permissions recursively by doing the following:

  1. Stop WHD.
  2. Open the terminal.
  3. Run:
    sudo chmod -R +x /Library/WebHelpDesk/bin/jre/lib
  4. Start WHD.
