An error occurred while updating the database DB_CONNECT_FAILED

The following error is displayed when upgrading to WHD 12.5.1:

An error occurred while updating the database DB_CONNECT_FAILED 


The following error is also found in the whd-spring.log file:

[ActiveMQ Transport Server Thread Handler: tcp://] ERROR - Could not accept connection : java.lang.InterruptedException

[ApplicationManager-1] ERROR c.s.w.s.a.WhdApplicationManagerImpl - Failed to start WHD application


All WHD versions


This error is caused when another application on the host server is using the same 61616 port as WHD ActiveMQ.


  1. Go to <WebHelpDesk>\bin\wrapper\conf and open the wrapper_template.conf file.
  2. Find the # Java Additional Parameters line and add the following Java argument in line 18 to change the port from 61616 to 61617:
