Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and earlier versions do not render compressed HTTP content reliably. If a page contains a small amount of content, the browser can return a blank page.

To resolve this issue, you must either update to EI7 or later, or disable gzip compression.

To disable gzip compression:

  1. Open /conf/tomcat_server_template.xml in a text editor.
  2. Find the argument to the HTTP Connector (near line 76) that looks like this: compression="on"
  3. Change the argument to: compression="off"
  4. Restart Web Help Desk.

Note: tomcat_server_template.xml may be overwritten with an update of Web Help Desk. You should make a backup and copy over or merge your changes after applying an update.
