Overview

This article describes the issue when Web Help Desk allows Reports to be grouped and set the Tech Groups the access to run or view these reports, WHD is unable to delete the access permission when a WHD Admin tries to delete the Tech Group(s). You also get the following error: 

"Problem deleting the Tech Group: com.webobjects.eoaccess.EOGeneralAdaptorException: EvaluateExpression failed: : Next exception:SQL State:23000 -- error code: 547 -- msg: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "REPORT_GROUP_TECH_GROUP_techGroup_FK". The conflict occurred in database "whd", table "dbo.REPORT_GROUP_TECH_GROUP", column 'TECH_GROUP_ID'."

Cause 

This is caused when a Tech Group is assigned to a Report Group/s.

Resolution

  1. Go to Reports > Report Groups. You will then see see all the available Groups, on the Access column, you can see all the Tech Groups that has access to this Report
  2. Edit the the Group/s that has the Tech Group that you want to delete especially those that have Tech Groups: All.
  3. Choose Specific Groups only to remove the Tech Group that you want to delete.
  4. Once done removing the Tech Group from the Report Groups, log out then log back in and try deleting the Tech Group again.
