VNQM license exceeded on the Customer Portal

A VNQM License Exceeded message appears on the Customer Portal and on Web Console with Customer Portal Integration enabled.

However, the License Details on the Web Console do not indicate an issue.





VNQM version 4.2.2


This issue happens when some phones have moved from one call manager to another so they are registered on one and unregistered on the other.

Both the registered and unregistered appear as licensed in the database for the warning but they do not count towards your license and does not affect operation of the module.


  1. Create a backup of VNQM.xml in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Modules\ to your local drive, in case you need to roll back later.
  2. Open the file VNQM.xml in a text editor.
  3. Find and Replace the following query

SELECT COUNT([ID]) AS [Phones] FROM Orion.IpSla.CCMPhones WHERE [Licensed] = 1

With the query below

SELECT COUNT(1) AS [Phones] 
count(1) as ct
Orion.IpSla.CCMPhones ph
INNER JOIN Orion.ipsla.ccmmonitoring ccm on ph.CCMMonitoringID = ccm.ID AND ccm.Deleted != 1 and [ph.Licensed]=1
group by ph.Name, ph.MACAddress)

  1. Restart Orion Services using the Orion Service Manager (Start > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager).
