These release notes for VNQM 4.5.1 describe the new features, improvements, and fixed issues in this release. They also provide information about upgrades and describe work-arounds for known issues.
For VNQM environment requirements, see VNQM 4.5.1 System Requirements.
Read this section for descriptions of the new features and improvements VNQM offers in this release, or compare VNQM 4.5.1 with previous releases of VNQM.
VNQM 4.5.1 is an Orion Platform product, and it runs on Orion Platform 2018.4.
VNQM now supports version 7.1 of the Avaya Aura® Communication Manager.
Automatically upgrade additional polling engines, additional web servers, and High Availability servers directly from the Orion Web Console. Upgrades run in parallel, dramatically reducing the time required to upgrade large deployments.
Users can log in to the Orion Web Console using Okta or Active Directory Federation Service credentials.
PerfStack can transform line data to show different values instead of raw data.
Orion Diagnostics on the Web: Collect diagnostics from your polling engines directly from the Orion Web Console.
Access your deployment health directly from Settings.
For information about installing VNQM 4.5.1, see SolarWinds Orion Installer.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, be aware of the following considerations:
When upgrading to VNQM 4.5.1, if you added a site binding to a host name before you upgrade, you must bind the Orion Web Console to a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). See this article.
When upgrading to VNQM 4.5.1 with custom menus, you cannot see the Performance Dashboard link in the menu. For details, see this article.
When upgrading on the Additional Poller, you may receive this error " The license we have for Orion Scalability Engine is outdated". See this article for details to resolve.
If you are upgrading from VNQM 4.4 or later, use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to upgrade one or more Orion Platform products simultaneously.
If you are upgrading from an earlier version, use the following resources to plan and implement an upgrade to VNQM 4.5.1. Then use the SolarWinds Orion Installer to complete the upgrade.
