VNQM 4.2.2 Hotfix1

Fixed issues

This hotfix addresses the following issues:

  • The Failed Call graph shows incorrect data, such as invalid times.
  • The registration time of phones is incorrect on the call manager.
  • An error occurs in the Custom Object resource when adding operations.

Environment

  • VNQM 4.2.2

Notes

  • This extracted zip folder contains a setup.exe file.
  • Run the exe on the Orion server on which VNQM is installed.
  • When you run the exe file it detects the version of VNQM on the server, and extracts the files into the same folder where the exe file is saved.

Installation instructions

  1. Download and extract the HotFix from http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/VNQM-v4.2.2-HotFix1.zip or log in to the SolarWinds Customer Portal and go to License Management > HotFixes.
  2. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager.
  3. Stop all Orion services.
  4. Back up the following files:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Pollers.dll
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\bin\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Web.dll
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\CallManager\ConnectedPhones.ascx.cs
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\FailedCalls.ascx
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\MinMaxAvgJitterGraph.ascx.cs
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\MinMaxAvgPacketLossGraph.ascx.cs 
  5. Copy the SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Pollers.dll file from this hotfix and place it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\ folder.
  6. Copy the SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Web.dll file from this hotfix and place it in the C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\bin folder.
  7. Copy the ConnectedPhones.ascx.cs file from this hotfix and place it in the C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\CallManager folder.
  8. Copy the following files from the hotfix and place them in the C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails folder:    
    • FailedCalls.ascx
    • MinMaxAvgJitterGraph.ascx.cs
    • MinMaxAvgPacketLossGraph.ascx.cs
  9. If you use Windows Server 2008, unblock each copied file by completing the following procedure:
    1. Right-click the file and select Properties.
    2. Navigate to the General tab.
    3. If there is a security warning, click Unblock.
    4. Click OK.
  10. Restart all SolarWinds services in the Orion Service Manager.
  11. After applying this hotfix, the issues outlined in the Overview should no longer occur.

 

Uninstallation instructions

  1. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Services Manager.
  2. Stop all Orion services.
  3. Delete the following files:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Pollers.dll
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\bin\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Web.dll
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\CallManager\ConnectedPhones.ascx.cs
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\FailedCalls.ascx
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\MinMaxAvgJitterGraph.ascx.cs
    • C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\Voip\Resources\PhoneDetails\MinMaxAvgPacketLossGraph.ascx.cs
  4. Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  5. Select your SolarWinds VoIP and Network Quality Manager installation, and then click Change.
  6. Select Repair, and then click Next.
  7. Complete the wizard.
  8. If necessary, restart all Orion services.
