Overview

This article contains VNQM 4.2 Hotfix 1 which fixes the issue when a deadlock scenario occurs while CDRs are updated with CMRs, and the Phones and Gateways tables are updated at the same time.

Environment

VNQM version 4.2.0

Resolution

Note: Besides the server, install this hotfix on all additional polling engines.

Download the following hotfix from the link below:

To install this fix:

1.  Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
2.  Stop all Orion services.
3.  Back up the following files:
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.BusinessLayer.dll.config
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.BusinessLayer.dll
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Data.DAL.dll
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor\SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Common.dll

4.  Copy the following files from the extracted folder to the c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VoIP Monitor folder:
    SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.BusinessLayer.dll.config
    SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.BusinessLayer.dll
    SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Data.DAL.dll
    SolarWinds.Orion.IpSla.Common.dll

5.  If you use Windows Server 2008, unblock each copied file by completing the following procedure:
     a. Right-click the file, and then select "Properties".
    b. Navigate to the "General" tab.
    c. If there is a security warning, click "Unblock".
    d. Click "OK".
6.  Restart all Orion services.
 

Note: Another alternative way is to upgrade to the latest VNQM version.
