VNQM - All IP SLA objects have Status = Unknown on map after the upgrade to VNQM 4.2.4 or later

Updated November 30, 2017

After you upgrade from VNQM 4.2.3 or earlier to VNQM 4.2.4 or later, all IP SLA operations appear as "Unknown" on the map.

When you check the status in Network Atlas, you will see the message "Unknown Net Object"

For more detail, see the screenshots below:

  • VNQM 4.2.4 and later

This happens because of changes in the IpSlaSchema file (C:\Program Files(x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas\IpSlaSchema.xml).

In VNQM 4.2.3, the IP SLA object was represented as [IP SLA operation ID] | [Node ID], but in VNQM v 4.2.4, the IP SLA object is represented as [Node ID] | [IP SLA operation ID]. Thus objects from previous VNQM version are not supported by the last VNQM.

Remove IP SLA operations with the Unknown status that were added in VNQM v 4.2.3 (or earlier) from the map and re-add them.
