Set up offline help files for VNQM

Overview

This article describes how to set up offline help files for VNQM.

Environment

VNQM 4.2 and later

Steps

  1. Open IIS on the Orion server.
  2. Add a Website and assign a name, such as SolarwindsHelp.
  3. Create a Folder that the website will point to such as Solarwindshelp under the Inetpub file directory.
  4. Assign a binding for the website that is not the same as the main Orion server. For example, Port 8080.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Extract the zip file and copy the entire directory called VNQMLocalHelp.
  7. Paste the extracted VNQMLocalHelp folder and its contents to the Inetpub/Solarwinds help directory.
  8. Create a folder under \documentation\en\flarehelp\vnqm\ named 4.2.
  9. Cut the contents from C:\inetpub\SolarwindsHelp\VNQMLocalHelp\documentation\en\flarehelp\vnqm and paste to C:\inetpub\SolarwindsHelp\VNQMLocalHelp\documentation\en\flarehelp\vnqm\4.2
  10. On the VNQM Web Console, go to Settings > Webconsole Settings.
  11. Under Help server, enter the address of the website with the directory. For example, http://localhost:8080/VNQMLocalHelp
  12. Click Submit.
