Overview

The following error appears when executing the Configuration Job in Virtualization Manager:

Common Error result:

No permission to collect files for N Datastores

Environment

All VMan versions

Cause 

The credentials set for a vCenter or ESX server does not have the Browse Datastore role/privilege

Resolution

  1. Follow the VMware KB article on how to address the error Users no longer have permission to browse datastore after upgrading to vCenter Server 4.0.
  2. Rerun the Configuration Collection Job on the VMan and wait for it to complete to verify that the status turns from yellow to green.
