Install Storage Resource Monitor (SRM) along with VMAN in the Orion Platform to view the physical storage environment that corresponds to the virtual environment. By installing both VMAN and SRM, you can gain an overall view of your physical storage infrastructure.

If SRM is installed, the storage information about LUNs that is displayed in VMAN is linked to the information stored in SRM. Click the links in VMAN resources to reach the corresponding Details page of the storage volume.

This storage related information is only displayed in VMAN if:

  • A mapping exists between a storage volume and the virtualization volume entity, and
  • Both VMAN and SRM are installed on the same Orion server

If Virtualization Manager is installed with Storage Manager (STM), the links to STM are displayed in VMAN resources even if the SRM module is not installed.
