Configure the ownership and permissions of content

Administrators can access all content in Virtualization Manager. Non-administrator users can only access their own content, and the publicly readable or writable content of other users.

You can choose from the following permission types:

  • Private
    Only the user saving the search query has access.
  • World Writable
    All users can view and modify the query.
  • World Readable
    All users can view the query.

You can change the permissions on any content that you own, or that is world writable.

  1. Click Explore > Content.
  2. Select the content, and click the pencil icon.
  3. Select the permission type, and click Save.

You can change the owner of content if you are the owner of the content, or if the content is world writable.

  1. Click Explore > Content.
  2. Select the content, and click Set Owner.
  3. Select the user you want to make the owner.
