This article provides steps to configure the fuser timeout in the Virtualization Manager Appliance.

All VMan versions

  1. Open a browser to https://ip_address:5480 where ip_address is the IP address or name of the SolarWinds Virtualization Manager VM.
  2. Log on to the website using your SolarWinds Virtualization Manager credentials.
  3. Click the SolarWinds Mgmt tab.
  4. ClickEdit Configuration.
  5. Select the hyper9-config.xml file and clickEdit.
  6. Search for <entry key="fuser.timeout.seconds">3600</entry>.
  7. Change 3600 to your new fuser timeout increment.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Restart the appliance.

If you are seeing config jobs which finish after an hour without having collected all datastore information, increasing the above fuser value and the je.rjmgr.maxDuration.s parameters is necessary. There is a tradeoff however. If the parameters are increased, the jobs will finish with complete data set, but they will finish later. This means that alerts will also be evaluated later.
