Notification: Virtualization Manager failed to activate license properly

Overview

The following false error notification appears on the Orion Web Console.

Notification: Virtualization Manager failed to activate license properly

Environment

  • VMAN 6.2 and later
  • NPM 11.5 and later

Detail

The above error appears on Orion on top of the tabs if the VMAN and IVIM licenses were updated later or if they are not totally in sync.

Running the Configuration Wizard from the Orion Web Console should help fix this as the said process intends to synchronize the settings of both the appliance the and orion server.

 

Here are the steps on how to run the Synchronization Wizard:

  1. Login to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Go to Settings then look for Virtualization Settings.
  3. Click the Run Synchronization Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Go back to the Orion home page and verify if the said error/notification is still present.
