Shrink or decrease the VM disk size in VMware

Overview

This article provides information on how to shrink or decrease the disk size of the VMAN virtual appliance.

WARNING: It is not recommended to decrease the disk size (HardDisk2) of VMAN since the disk size was set as the average disk space requirement for VMAN to run with no issues. Data growth in VMAN is rapid specially if you are monitoring a large VM environment.

Detail

You will not be able to shrink or decrease the VMAN disk space by the conventional vSphere or VMware web client 'Edit' Virtual machine. You will need the VMware converter tool for this task. See VMware links below:
