Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Polling job finished with Failed state after upgrade to VMAN 8.1

Updated January 25, 2018

After upgrading to VMAN 8.1, VMAN stops polling any Hyper-V hosts. The Hyper-V Host Detail says "Polling job finished with 'Failed' state." The VIM logs don't show anything.

  • VMAN 8.1

The Java used for virtualization polling broke during the upgrade to 8.1

  1. Repair the SolarWinds Virtual Infrastructure Monitor via Programs and Features in Windows.
    The Configuration Wizard starts.
  2. Complete the Configuration Wizard.
