Identify if a VMan appliance is utilizing a Federated Collector

This article will help you identify if the VMan environment is utilizing a Federated collector.


VMan 6.x


  1. Login to the VMan application console.
  2. Go to Setup tab > Data Sources.
  3. Select one of the Data Sources and then click Edit.
  4. If the drop down list only provides 'Localhost', then it means that they only have one VMan appliance and no Federated Collector. However, if the list provides more information other than Localhost such as a different hostname, then it means that they have a Federated Collector that is ready.
