Hyper-V did not find virtual machines to import from location

Overview

When installing Virtualization Manager on Microsoft Hyper -V server, they are prompted with the Hyper-V did not find virtual machines to import from location error when doing the following steps:

  1. Extract the contents of the Hyper-V .zip file.
  2. Launch the Hyper-V Manager.
  3. Connect to the appropriate Hyper-V server.
  4. In the Action menu, select Import Virtual Machine.
  5. Error prompt "Hyper-V did not find virtual machines to import from location..."

Environment

VMAN 6.3.2

Resolution

  1. Login as a local administrator.
  2. On the Hyper-V Manager, Recreate a new virtual machine.
  3. Retry the steps to import the virtual machine.
