Overview

The following error message appears in VMan web application but the tomcat daemon is running fine upon checking.

HTTP Status 404 - /swvm/ConsoleContainer.jsp

The Requested Source is not available

Environment

VMan v6.x

Cause 

The Lucene Index file is corrupted, missing or was modified to a different file name. 

Resolution

  1. SSH to your VMan appliance using an Admin account.
  2. Switch to root:
    # sudo su
  3. Stop the Tomcat service:
    # service tomcat stop
  4. Remove the Lucene index:
    # rm -rf /data/var/hyper9/data/index
  5. Start the Tomcat service:
    # service tomcat start
  6. Check and confirm that you now have access to view the management console. Otherwise, reboot the VMan appliance using the admin console.
