Enable shallow indexing

Overview

Shallow index is an optional feature created to alleviate performance problems with large environment. It comes with some limitations to certain features, so it should only be enabled when needed. 

Environment

VMAN 6.1.0 or later

Steps

By default, shallow index is turned off. To turn it on, perform these steps:

1. Place the following line in the properties section of /etc/hyper9/hyper9-config.xml.

    <entry key="index.lucene.shallowIndex">true</entry>

2. Restart Tomcat by executing:

    'sudo service tomcat restart'
