CPU Recommendation column in the VM CPU Overallocation alert only shows n/a

Overview

The CPU Recommendation column in the VM CPU Overallocation alert is showing as n/a instead of the value.

 

CPU Recommendation column should show values like the following:

Environment

  • VMan 6.3.2
  • VMan 6.3.1
  • VMan 6.3.0
  • VMan 6.0.1

Cause 

The VM CPU Overallocated alert on VMan has the Use the data attribute from the Criteria tab. This option must be deselected so that the alert will use the default find CPU query that will provide data on the CPU Recommendation column.

Resolution

  1. Open the VM CPU Overallocation alert.
  2. Click Configure then go to Notifications tab.
  3. In the Notification value section, deselect the Use the data attribute option from the Criteria' tab.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Verify that CPU Recommendation column is now showing data.
