Overview

The following message appears in the yellow notification banner when logged in to the Orion Web Console:

UDT Remote Event Log Jobs failed

Environment

All UDT environments

Cause 

This occurs when the AD account that UDT uses is not a member of the Event Log Readers group on the applicable domain. In some cases, this can be a bug which is fixed in UDT v3.2.2 Hotfix 2.

Resolution

  1. Verify that the UDT user account is a member of the Administrators group on the target domain controller or a limited account with privileges to access the remote security event log and directory service on the remote domain controller. 
    Note: If you UDT is using a limited account, verify that it is a member of the following groups:

    • Domain Users

    • Distributed COM Users

  2. Verify that the permissions for the AD account that UDT uses is a member of the Event Log Readers. Refer to Managing Active Directory Credentials.  

  3. If your version of UDT is v3.2.2 or earlier, upgrade to v3.2.3 or apply UDT v3.2.2 directly.  UDT 3.2.3 contains the HotFix which resolves this issue. Alternatively, you may apply UDT v3.2.2 Hotfix 3 directly via this link:  http://downloads.solarwinds.com/sola...-3.2.2-HF2.zip.
