Create and Manage a Watch List

Scenario: create a watch list to be alerted when certain IP or MAC addresses, or a certain user, connects to the network.

This scenario assumes that you have already discovered appropriate nodes and ports, and that you have added an Active Directory domain controller and appropriate credentials for UDT to use in retrieving user information. For more information on discovery, see Add multiple devices (Network Sonar Discovery). For more information on adding a domain controller and credentials, see Active Directory controllers and users.

To create a watch list:

  1. Click the Device Tracker tab, if not already selected.
  2. Click Manage List> Add Device/User > select an object type (MAC address, IP address, host name, or user name).
  3. Enter a valid string.
  4. Click Submit.

You may repeat these steps for all objects that you want to add in the Watch List.
