WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Whitelisted items still show as Rogue devices

Updated October 3, 2017

Overview

When you add entities to your whitelist in UTD 3.2.2, the entries are not honored and the entities continue to show as rogue devices.

Example: IPs 10.199.1.11 and 10.199.11.252 are recently added to the whitelist listed below.

You can currently see they are active IPs here:

However, when you look at the Rogue Device list, they still show up:

Environment

  • UDT 3.2.2

Cause

The cause of the issue is the devices are not being properly updated through the whitelist procedure within the database. It fails to remove the Rogue flags in the tables.

Resolution

This issue is currently fixed in UDT version 3.3. Upgrade to this version to correct the issue.
