UDT Polling intervals revert to Default after setting custom value

Updated January 11, 2018

Overview

This issue describes a problem that can occur when you attempt to set a custom polling interval in UDT Settings under Polling Interval. When a custom time is set, nodes will initially insert that polling interval for a short time until they are reverted back to the 30 minute interval despite no action by the user.

Environment

  • UDT 3.3

Cause

The issue occurs from a bug that occurs during polling which forces custom polling intervals to reset back to the default intervals.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you need to install the UDT 3.3 HotFix 2.

  1. Log in to your SolarWinds Customer Portal.
  2. Download HotFix 2 for UDT 3.3.
  3. Install on the main Orion server, all additional UDT polling servers, and all standby servers with UDT installed.
