Empty DNS rogue records are missing in rogue devices resource and alerts

Issue:
When there are no hostname for certain IP endpoints, the Rogue device resource doesn't display the empty DNS Rogue records and alerts are not triggered.

Resolution:

Two steps are needed to display the Empty DNS Rogue records and alerts.

Run the following query against the UDT database:

 

  • UPDATE UDT_Setting Set Settingvalue=1 Where SettingName = 'UDT.AddEmptyHostNameInRogueList'
  • Enable the alert "Alert me when a rogue Empty DNS name appears on network" via the Advanced Alert Manager.
