Overview

This article provides information about resetting UDT to accept anything connected to it regardless of its IP Address, Hostname or MAC address.

Note: This is our default White List.

UDT contains stock rules already in place that are automatically set to enabled when the application is first installed.

These can be disabled and enabled as per need. If they are deleted, they can also be recreated with little trouble.

Environment

UDT version 3+

Steps

Stock rules exist:

1. Log in to the SolarWinds website using an admin account.
2. Click Settings in the Top Right corner.
3. Click UDT Settings.
4. Click Manage White List.

5. Select the rule you wish to enable

6. Click on Enable

Stock rules no longer exist:

1. Log in to the SolarWinds website using an admin account.
2. Click Settings in the Top Right corner.
3. Click UDT Settings.
4. Click Manage White List.
5. Click Add New.
6. Click Custom on the left site.
Note: The dropdown is set to IP Address first, you can leave this unchanged.
7. Place a * in the Custom Field.
8. Click Next.
9. Enter the name of the Rule (ours by default are "Any hostname", "Any IP address" and "Any MAC address").
10. Click Finish.
11. Repeat steps 5 through 10 changing the dropdown in step 6 to Hostname and MAC address until all three rules are created.
