Overview

Cisco Catalyst 6500 generates SNMP-3-INPUT_QFULL_ERR when receiving IF-MIB.

Only an SNMP warm start will get it working again.

Environment

All UDT versions

Cause

This issue appears to be related to the getbulk request that UDT uses. The Cisco 6500 stops responding to any SNMP request shortly after the getbulk request. After 30 seconds or so, it starts to drop the packets as though it cannot forward them onto the snmp engine itself. The ‘input counter drops’ then increases until it fills up the queue then you get an “%SNMP-3-INPUT_QFULL_ERR: Packet dropped due to input” error!

Resolution

Please contact Cisco support as this issue is related to their device.
