Overview

Download the hotfix from https://customerportal.solarwinds.com/HotFixes.

This HotFix fixes the following issues:
* The SRM Orion Module is unable to add Dell Compellent SAN.
* The SRM Orion Module cannot poll statistics from HDS devices.
* The Cluster Details view in the SRM Orion Module ignores disabled detail view settings.
* IBM SVC clusters are displayed as "Unreachable".
* Missing latency numbers for V7000 running on v7.4.0.1 of the OS.


THIS HOTFIX MODIFIES THE FOLLOWING FILES ON THE SOLARWINDS STORAGE RESOURCE MONITOR ORION SERVER

Templates\Dell Compellent-Dell.template
Templates\HDS-Hitachi.template
Templates\IBM-SVC.template
SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll
SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll
SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll
SRMWebsite.zip


Requirements

SolarWinds SRM Orion Version 6.2.0.749

 

Where To Install

This HotFix must be installed on the SolarWinds SRM Orion Main server and on all additional or free pollers, if applicable.

Installation Overview

Installing this HotFix requires you to replace files on your SolarWinds SRM Orion Main server with the files included in this HotFix.

The installation instructions use {OrionSRM} to represent your SolarWinds SRM installation folder, typically C:\Program Files(x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM.

1. Back up the following files on the main Orion Server. 
a. Create a subfolder called {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\
b. Copy {OrionSRM}\Templates\Dell Compellent-Dell.template to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ 
c. Copy {OrionSRM}\Templates\HDS-Hitachi.template to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ 
d. Copy {OrionSRM}\Templates\IBM-SVC.template to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ 
e. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\
f. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\
g. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\

2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.

3. Click Shutdown Everything.

4. Replace the following files on the main Orion Server.
a. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\Dell Compellent-Dell.template with the version from this HotFix.
b. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\HDS-Hitachi.template with the version from this HotFix.
c. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\IBM-SVC.template with the version from this HotFix.
d. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll with the version from this HotFix.
e. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll with the version from this HotFix.
f. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll with the version from this HotFix.

5. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.

6. In the Configuration Wizard, select the "Database", "Website" and "Services" options.

7. Follow the remainder of the Configuration Wizard instructions.

8. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.


Installing this HotFix requires you to replace files on your SolarWinds SRM Orion Additional Pollers with the files included in this HotFix.

The installation instructions use {OrionSRM} to represent your SolarWinds SRM installation folder, typically C:\Program Files(x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM.

a. Create a subfolder called {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\
b. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\
c. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\
d. Copy {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll to {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\

2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.

3. Click Shutdown Everything.

4. Replace the following files on the Additional/Free Orion Poller.
a. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll with the version from this HotFix.
b. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll with the version from this HotFix.
c. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll with the version from this HotFix.

5. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.

After applying this HotFix the issues outlined in the description should no longer occur.


To Rollback The Hotfix

On the SolarWinds SRM Orion Main server:

1. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.

2. Click Shutdown Everything.

3. Replace the following files on the main Orion Server.
a. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\Dell Compellent-Dell.template with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ directory.
b. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\HDS-Hitachi.template with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ directory.
c. Replace {OrionSRM}\Templates\IBM-SVC.template with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\Templates\ directory.
d. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.
e. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.
f. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.

4. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.

5. In the Configuration Wizard, select the "Database", "Website" and "Services" options.

6. Follow the remainder of the Configuration Wizard instructions.

7. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.


On the SolarWinds SRM Orion Additional Pollers:

1. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.

2. Click Shutdown Everything.

3. Replace the following files on the Additional/Free Pollers. 
a. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.BusinessLayer.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.
b. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Collector.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.
c. Replace {OrionSRM}\SolarWinds.SRM.Pollers.dll with the backup version located in the {OrionSRM}\BackUp_HF1\ directory.

4. Click Start Everything in the Orion Service Manager.
