Create a custom property for a storage object type

  1. Navigate to Settings > All Settings.
  2. Click Manage Custom Properties in the Node & Group Management panel.

    The Manage Custom Properties page opens.

  3. Click Add Custom Property.
  4. Select the object type to which you want to associate the property, and click Next.
  5. Enter a unique name, description, and format for this custom property.

    The format can be text, integer or floating number, date/time, or yes/no.

  6. Specify whether this custom property is a required property.
  7. Select Restrict values and enter a list of values to which you want this property to be restricted.
  8. Click Next.

    You can now specify values for individual or groups of objects of this object type.

  9. Click Select. Use the pop up window to group and select objects of the selected type.
  10. Enter the value for the selected group of objects.
  11. Click Add More to select further objects and assign values to these.
  12. When you have finished assigning values to objects, click Submit.

    The custom property is now displayed in the table on the Manage Custom Properties page.

  13. Select the property, and click View/Edit Values. The list of objects is displayed, showing any values you have assigned to this custom property.
