Fixed issues

This HotFix fixes the following issues:

  • 859099 - SRM 6.2 RC Problems with 2x Hitachi HDS HUS 110
  • 858508 - Not seeing latency numbers from aV7000 running v7.4.0.1 of the OS
  • 873013 - Problems with EMC VNX Polling and failed messages during Poll Now or Rediscover tasks
  • 905505 - Related LUNs resource not displaying data at required interval
  • 874247 - Unable to connect to Dell PowerVault MD3600F SAN
  • 885422 - SRM 6.2 cannot monitor EMC VNX for File anymore (After EMC upgraded Block/File Code on VNX)
  • 865851 - Integration with SRM 6.1 Orion

Environment

  • SolarWinds SRM Orion Version 6.2.0 or
  • SolarWinds SRM Orion Version 6.2.0 with HotFix 1

Notes

This hotfix is located at: http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/SRM-v6.2.0-HotFix2.zip

This HotFix must be installed on the main Orion server, all additional SRM polling servers and any additional websites. Repeat the steps below for all your pollers and websites.

Installation instructions

  1.  Log in to the server hosting the SRM installation as an administrator.
  2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
  3. Click Shutdown Everything.
  4. Backup the existing SRM files, the Orion database, and the Information service files before applying files from HF2 package:
    • Create a zip archive of the SRM folder (by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM").
    • Create a zip archive of the Information Service folder (which by default is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service").
    • Backup your Orion database by using, for example, MS SQL Server Management Studio.
  5. Unblock the downloaded SRM-v6.2.0-HotFix2.zip file:
    • Right-click the .zip file and select Properties.
    • Select the General tab.
    • If the file includes a security warning, click Unblock, and then click OK.
  6. Extract the archive.
  7. Copy the "Orion" folder, including all files and folders from the Hotfix to your Orion installation folder (by default "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion"). Replace the existing files.
  8. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.
  9. In the Configuration Wizard, select the "Database", "Website" and "Services" options.
  10. Follow the remainder of the Configuration Wizard instructions.

Uninstallation instructions

  1. Log in to the server hosting the SRM installation as an administrator.
  2. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.
  3. Click Shutdown Everything.
  4. Restore the previous version of the SRM files, Database, and Information service files:
    • Restore the SRM files backup to the SRM folder (by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM").
    • Restore the Information Service files backup to the Information Service folder (by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service").
    • Restore your Orion database backup by using, for example, MS SQL Server Management Studio.
  5. Run Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Configuration Wizard.
  6. In the Configuration Wizard, select the "Database", "Website" and "Services" options.
  7. Follow the remainder of the Configuration Wizard instructions.
