Orion Module Engine keeps on restarting and the Web Console is intermittently available

Overview

The Orion Module Engine keeps on restarting and the availability of the Web Console is intermittent. The CoreBusinessLayer log stops at 'loading SRM plugin.' The following error appears in the SRM Business Layer log:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly (...) or one of it's dependencies.

Environment

  • SRM 6.2.1
  • Windows 2012 server

Cause 

The SRM installer file was not properly unlocked before the installation was started. Some or all DLL files are locked and cannot be loaded by the system. 

Resolution

1. Uninstall SRM from the Control Panel.
2. Unzip SRM and make sure that the installer is not locked (you will see "Unlock" button in the file properties).
3. Stop all services using Orion Service Manager.
4. Right click the installer and click Run as administrator.
5. Complete the Configuration Wizard to restart services.
