Orion SRM displays following status information for storage array:
0 Unknown
1 Ok (green)
2 Down (red)
3 Warning (yellow)

How are these mapped from SMI-S returned values?

SRM 6.2

All status mappings are stored in templates (C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SRM\Templates). SMI-S values are mapped to SRM Orion, our status codes are:
0 Unknown
1 Ok (green)
2 Down (red)
3 Warning (yellow)

If we cannot get results for some reason (listed in my previous email), array goes "Unreachable".
To find mapping for specific array:
Open the template file in Notepad.

  1. Search for the line <PropertyMapping target="Status">.
  2. Line ComponentMapping target= tells which component are you looking for.
  3. Scroll down to the line Transform operation="switchAnyFromCollection".
  4. You will see mapping below, for example:
    <SwitchOutput value="#1">
    <SwitchInput value="#2" />
    <SwitchInput value="#32769" />
    <SwitchInput value="#17" />
    <SwitchInput value="#18" />

    <SwitchInput value="#32772" />
  5. SwitchInput is the value we receive from storage array, SwitchOutput is the SRM Status code (listed at the beginning of my email). So that means SMIS statuses 2, 32769, 17, 18, 32772 will be mapped to "Ok" (green) in this case.
