Having a unified ticketing and asset management system for all the departments in your company can provide end-users with a seamless experience and make things easier for your IT team. Yet, with different business tasks and objectives, many departments don’t fully understand the capabilities of Web Help Desk and how the software can be customized for effective use in their departments.

Overview

When a Dell EqualLogic array is added to the disks via EqualLogic Group Manager, SRM licensing detects the number of disks as a whole even if only a single array from the group is being added.
As an example:
A group has 4 Dell EqualLogic arrays added and each has 25 disks.
When a single array from this group is added to SRM, the license detects 100 disks instead of only 25.

Environment

All SRM/SRM Profiler versions

Cause

The IP used for polling SNMP data is the IP address of the Dell EqualLogic Group Manager (this is the IP used for opening the Group Manager GUI from a browser.

Resolution

Dell EqualLogic Group must be added to SRM instead if adding them as individual group members. If there are any member arrays that were previously added in SRM, delete them from SRM and then add the EqualLogic Group.
