Raw data is different from Summary Roll-up data in Storage Manager. Raw data is all data that has been collected on the regular collection scheduled.

By default Storage Manager displays this data in a “roll up” fashion. Roll up data is a calculated average that is stored on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis depending on the granularity of the timescale selected.

When the raw option is forced on the selected time range, the user will be presented more granular performance data. This can be useful if the user is trying to troubleshoot issues such as performance spikes which could otherwise be filtered out when using the default Summary Roll-up method.
