  • AIX
    • Check that the agent is running
    • Restart the agent
  • ARCserve
    • For Windows make sure a Local System or Domain Account is used
    • For Unix make sure an account with root access is used
  • Backup Exec
    • Check the date time format
    • Check the installation path
  • Cisco MDS
    • Check the IP address and SNMP community string of the switch
    • Make sure Storage Manager server is on the ACL on the switch
    • Storage Manager does not support SNMP v3

     

  • CommVault Galaxy
    • Check the installation path
    • Check the database name, database port, credentials and domain are correct
  • EMC Celerra
    • Check the user name and password
    • Restart the poller service
    • For File Analysis the scanning agent needs to be logged in as user with access to the shares
  • EqualLogic PS Series
    • Check the SNMP community string
    • Make sure the IP address of the agent monitoring the Equallogic has been added to the Equallogic ACL
  • Exchange/Exchange Server/Exchange Server 2003/Exchange Server 2007
    • Storage Manager does not support Exchange 2010
  • FC Fabric
    • Make sure this module is enabled on a Windows server with a HBA
  • FibreChannel
    • Check the IP address and SNMP string of the switch
    • Make sure Storage Manager server is on the ACL on the switch
    • Storage Manager does not support SNMP v3
  • HP P4000 Series
    • CommandView 8.0.2 and Firmware 6200 is required for viewing array performance data
    • Port 5988 (HTTP) or 5989 (HTTPS) must be open to allow monitoring
  • IBM System Storage N Series
    • Ensure Storage Manager Proxy Agent is running on the server used to monitor the IBM N-Series
    • Array must be installed and running before it can be added to Storage Manager
    • Ensure that the IBM N-Series IP address is accessible to DFM Server via http/https
  • Linux
    • When installing either the Linux agent or Server make sure root access is used to prevent any permission related issues with the software
  • MS-SQL
    • Check user name and password
    • Check port.
    • Restart the poller service
  • NAS Device
    • Check IP, user name and password
    • For Ontap 8.0 and above, HTTP and HTTPS access is enabled
  • NetApp Operations Manager
    • Check IP, user name and password
    • For Ontap 8.0 and above, HTTP and HTTPS access is enabled
  • NetBackup
    • Check the time date format
    • Check the installation path
  • ONStor
    • Check the IP address and community string
  • Oracle
    • Make sure you have installed the Oracle jar file
    • Make sure to edit the poller.ini file
    • Restart the poller service

     

  • Solaris
    • Check that the agent is running
    • Restart the agent
  • TSM
    • Check the time date format
    • Check the installation path
    • Check for the DSM.opt file in the installation path shown by clicking on the wrench
  • VMware ESX
    • Check the username, IP and password
    • See the KB article for permission requirements
  • VMware VC
    • Check the username, IP and password
    • See the KB article for permission requirements
    • After discovery, add the ESX servers that you want to monitor on the Getting started page
  • Windows
    • Check that the agent is running
    • Disable WMI collection when real-time perf data is missing
    • Restart the agent
  • Xiotech Emprise
    • Check the serial number and IP address of the ICON
    • Restart the agent that is monitoring this device
