When upgrading to Storage Manager 5.6.2 from 5.3 or earlier versions, the upgrade fails because the installer has detected a mariadb or mysql instance already installed on the server.
We must run a check to see if there are any other database instances running on the server. The following command will tell you whether or not the executable mysqld resides on the server:
This command will check the server and see if there are any currently mysqld executables on the server. There should not be any listed yet if they are, the next step will be uninstalling that instance of mysql or mariadb.
