Issue:

Storage Manager is unable to capture performance data from Windows 2008 Server.

Cause:

Corrupted performance counters.  An error like the following is generated by the Performance Monitor Control:

"Unable to add these counters:

\Memory\Available MBytes
\Memory\% Committed Bytes In Use
\Memory\Cache Faults/sec
\Memory\Cache Faults/sec
\PhysicalDisk(*)\%Idle Time
\PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Queue Length
\Network Interface(*)\Bytes Total/sec"

Resolution:

Rebuild the performance monitor counters on the server that is currently being affected using the following commands:

cd c:\windows\system32
lodctr /R
cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
lodctr /R
