Storage Manager: ESX mapping report does not show correct count for virtual machines

Overview

When selecting ESX Mapping under the Servers tab for a storage array, Storage Manager ESX mapping report does not show the correct count of Virtual Machines for a particular datastore. The number of Virtual Machines reported is less than what is expected.

 

Storage Manager does not consider the virtual machine templates when counting the virtual machines for the ESX Mapping report. Storage Manager stores the virtual machines and templates separately in different tables. The virtual machine template also does not have a device identification. The virtual machine templates can be found in the report "Virtual Machine Templates" which is under the Asset category for any virtual machine in Storage Manager.
