Upgrade SRM Profiler agents

SolarWinds recommends that you upgrade agents from the web console to avoid data loss.

Upgrade agents from the Web Console

After upgrading SRM Profiler, you must update the agents.

  1. From the web console, navigate to Settings > Upgrade Agents.
  2. Set a name for the upgrade.
  3. Select all modules.
  4. Select all agents.
  5. Click Save.

Upgrade agents manually

Agent Upgrades can also be performed manually by executing the Agent build for that version on the Agent side.

Upgrade agents on Linux

  1. Log in as root.
  2. Execute the install binary:

      # ./Storage_Manager_Agent-linux-x86_32.bin

  3. Installation may take several minutes. You will be prompted for the following:
    • Destination Path: The path where you want to install the agent. A directory will be created underneath this path if it does not already exist.
    • Server IP Address: The IP address of the device running the SRM Profiler server
    • Agent port: The agent server port to use.
  4. To start the agent, execute the following command:
    • #/usr/bin/storage_manager_agent start

  5. To stop the agent, execute the following command:
    • #/usr/bin/storage_manager_agent stop
