Backing up the SRM Profiler database

Updated: June 16, 2017

Both backing up the SRM Profiler Database and data recovery are simple processes.

SRM Profiler versions 5.6 and newer use MariaDB. For previous versions, MySQL is used. For versions prior to 5.6, substitute MySQL for MariaDB in the following instructions.

Back up the SRM Profiler database

  1. Stop SRM Profiler services.
  2. Stop MariaDB services.
  3. Make a copy of the entire data directory, and put it in a different location:
    • The default path in Windows: <installed drive>:\Program Files\SolarWinds\SRM Profiler Server\mariadb\data\storage directory.
    • The default path in Linux: <installed path> /Storage_Manager_Server/mariadb/data/storage directory.
    • Versions prior to SRM Profiler version 5.6 use either of the following:

    • \mysql\data\storage directory for Windows.
    • \mysql\data\storage_manager path for Linux.

Recover the SRM Profiler database

  1. Stop SRM Profiler services.
  2. Stop MariaDB services.
  3. Replace the data directory (see section above for paths) with the backed up directory.
  4. Restart MariaDB services.
  5. Restart SRM Profiler services.
